Meeting place at J.R. Okazaki Station

If you decide to arrive by train, we can meet you at JR (Japan Railways) Okazaki station. It doesn't matter what day of the week it is or what time. The first thing to do is to REGISTER YOUR ARRIVAL DATE with us so that we can arrange accommodation etc. If you are going to be arriving after 5pm, or entering a homestay, please ensure that you register your arrival date at least one week in advance.

Please call us in advance (ie before you reach Okazaki station, for example from either Nagoya or Toyohashi) on the day of arrival to re-confirm your approximate arrival time and call us once again on arrival. The number is 0564-55-8111.

As you leave the ticket gate at JR Okazaki station, turn right (east exit) and head to the end of the hall. You will find telephones on the right hand side at the end of the hall. After you call us please go down the steps to the taxi area and wait near the bottom of the stairs.

What day should I arrive? If you are travelling across 6 times zones or more, then you are likely to suffer some jetlag on arrival. In this case it is best to arrive 2 days early. Yamasa's group programs usually commence on either Wednesdays or Thursdays. If you are enrolling in any of the Academic programs please arrive on the Monday or Tuesday. If you are enrolling in any of the group based Extension programs, or Format 2 of the Acceleration program, please arrive on the Tuesday or Wednesday. If you are enrolled in Private lessons, Refresher etc, and have registered for a Monday start, please do not arrive on a Sunday unless you have previously consulted with the Admissions Office. Yamasa closes for the weekend at 4pm on Saturdays. Unless special arrangements have been previously made, students arriving on Saturday nights or on Sundays WILL NOT be able to enter student accommodation until Monday morning. If arriving after 4pm, please print and bring a copy of the list of hotels in Okazaki City.
