Location: As well as being close to the campus, Villa 2 is also close to shops, restaurants, supermarkets and bus-stops. If you are looking for convenience for getting out of town to see the sights of central Japan, these apartments are the closest to JR Okazaki Railway Station which is on the JR Tokaido Line (the main trunk route linking Osaka - Kyoto - Nagoya - Shizuoka - Tokyo) and gives you excellent access to Nagoya, Kanayama, Mikawa-Anjo, the marina/onsen resort of Gamagori on Mikawa Bay and Toyohashi. Click on shops, and other features on the map for more detail. Description: The rooms are western style with no tatami matting. The floors are of polished wood. The space of each room is different, but averages about 15 square meters (approximately 161 square feet). All rooms have air-conditioning/heating, a large wardrobe, refrigerator, TV, bed, desk, chair, study lamp and bookshelves. In the kitchen Yamasa provides gas cooking and electric rice cookers. Unlike most of the other accommodation options, there are a substantial number of utensils provided, and personal items such as coffee cups, chopsticks etc can be purchased cheaply at a nearby store. Coin laundry, common areas and bicycles: There are two western style toilets and a separate bathroom with a deep Japanese style bath with shower heads. Yamasa provides two washing machines between Villa 3 and 4 (30m from Villa 2) which can be used for free. Please do not wash before 7am and after 10pm, be considerate of your neighbours. There is also a a coin laundry next to the Yamasa Student Village. For drying clothes on rainy days, the building has a covered balcony. The best place to park bicycles is in the shelter at Yamasa Villa 3&4 about 30 meters away. This area is safe and secure but we do advise you to chain lock the bicycle. There is a large amount of parking space and there is no charge for parking. Telephone and Internet: Any student living in Villa 2 has optional internet access (via a fast wireless LAN). There is no telephone provided inside Villa 2, students will need to use computer-to-phone software using the internet connection, or use handheld cellular phones. There is a public telephone (international calling enabled and with data jacks) on site.

Advantages reported by students: You can have a bath - by comparison the village is showers only. Close to campus and route 248. Although the kitchen is shared, you have your own refrigerator. Good study environment. Large amount of personal space per student. Low cost. A maximum of 8 students have access to the LAN. Disadvantages reported by students: No wheelchair access.
