University students practising kayaking on the Seta/Uji river downstream from the Ishiyama-dera in Kyoto. This river flows from Lake Biwa down through Uji to Osaka. It is dammed in several places but the vertical drop provides some of the best white water conditions outside of Shikoku or Hokkaido.
