Issue 6 - Friday, 30th June 2000

Well, it's only 2pm on Friday and I'm already writing the newsletter - I must not have enough real work to do. As promised, some information about things to do in and around Okazaki - some day trips, places to go, things to see. And, if you want to get paid for enjoying yourself, why not write a page about what you do when you come here for the Guidebook? If you want to write a little more, then you can always turn it into your homepage competition entry (100,000 Yen prize in case I didn't mention it before).

It's the final call for Student Visa applications this week - we are almost at the limit, but we reckon we can squeeze a last three people through - if your kit isn't in yet, then get a move on! When we go over the limit, the later applications are just turned down by the immigration office so....first come, first served.

Regular feature: a staff profile - our fluent English-speaking Housing Coordinator, Ms. Kyoko Kurokawa. So, now you know who is desperately searching Okazaki for homestay families for you, and trying to shuffle a hundred rooms and start dates twice a week. Sounds like hell to me.

Thanks to everyone who is planning to send me a birthday card for Sunday (yes, Sunday. That's July 2nd).

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Euan McKay.
