Discovery - Program Dates - Option A

Option A involves a period of study (2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 weeks) followed by a tour (3, 5, 8, 10 or 12 days). This is the traditional format of Yamasa's Discovery Program, with options B, C & D becoming available from 2003. Compared to study/tour programs offered elsewhere in Japan (or anywhere else in the world), Yamasa's Discovery Option A offers several advantages:

  • You can vary the length of study component (study flexibility)
  • You can vary the length of the tour component (travel flexibility)
  • There is a safe deferral/refund policy in case you need to change schedules (security)
  • There are a minimum of 7 class levels available (including beginner levels all year round)
  • The program itself is offered all year (professional career faculty, not seasonal teachers)
  • Access to OCJS learning continues for 1 year after completion
  • Tour Group size is small (off-season average is 5, peak season average is 9)
  • Full 24 x 7 support in your studies, accommodation, welfare and safety
  • Free internet access, airport pickup/transfer, after-program travel booking service

Please click on the links below to see the range of program start dates. Please note that program dates after March 31st 2004 are yet to be confirmed. A full matrix (print ready format) of all options is accessible from a link at the bottom of this page.

Click on the links marked "Select Length of Study Component" to view the schedule for each start date. You can study for 10, 8, 6, 4 or 2 weeks in combination with your tour(s). The links include not only the schedule but information about the destinations for each tour.
