The program is being offered in two (2) formats. The reason we are using 2 formats this year is so that we can guarantee that no composite level classes will be needed. This ensures faster learning and more challenging classes as your classmates will be of similar level. (1) Standard Format: The standard format is for 23 classes per week, with a maximum class size of 15 students - 5 students less than the maximum class size required by the regulating body, the APJLE. (click here for more information on standard format class sizes.) Standard format classes start at 9.00am and finish at 2.30pm from Mondays to Thursdays. On Fridays the classes are from 9.00am to 11.50am. All of the 7 elementary proficency levels are taught using this standard format. (2) Seminar Format: The seminar format is for 15 classes per week, with a maximum class size of 6 students. (click here for more information on seminar format class sizes.) Seminar format classes start at 9.00am and finish at 11.50am from Mondays to Thursdays. On Fridays Japanese classes are from 9.00am to 11.50am. Intermediate classes are usually offered using this format ONLY, though the 23 class per week format will be used whenever there are 7 or more students at the same proficiency level. This is particularly the case during the June - August period (northern hemisphere summer) and December - January period (southern hemisphere summer vacation).
