If you wish to obtain a copy of the books before you arrive at Yamasa so that you can prepare lessons in advance you can do so. Many students find that they get much more out of their time at Yamasa if they have already prepared the vocabulary, read the grammar and either learnt or brushed up on many basics.
If you are enrolling in the SILAC program, there is no handling charge. Please pay the tuition and we can send you a set of books. We will deduct only the shipping costs from your tuition. The cost of shipping can then be paid either by credit card or on arrival.
If you wish to buy the books from Yamasa without enrolling in Yamasa, it is possible to buy them from us. You will need to pay for the book prices, 5% tax and postage. However because you aren't enrolling in Yamasa, we will also require you to pay a 10% handling charge. In this case, payment is made by credit card (Visa only). For details please contact the Admissions Office at admissions@yamasa.org - and write "Book Purchase" in the subject field.
If you are living in Japan, or have Japanese friends, or are located near a very good educational bookstore, it may be cheaper to arrange to buy the books yourself (as you might be in a position to save on postage/handling).
