Open AdmissionsUnlike many social sciences, there are no prerequisites for learning a language. A university degree is not required for admission, but motivation, commitment and an aptitude to succeed in an academically challenging environment is essential. In some cases, youth is an advantage in language acquisition. Either way, applicants need to prove their ability to handle intensive studies. Most of these young students are using good academic records to gain direct entry into university places in Japan, or obtain entry into Yamasa after successfully obtaining university places in their own country and then deferring for one year in order to experience a full immersion program in Japan.
