Discovery - Program Dates - Option B

Option B is a new format offering a flexibly scheduled tour (12, 10, 7, 4 or 2 days) followed by a period of intensive study (2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 weeks). Yamasa offers this new option so that students who are particularly interested in visiting destinations such as the Gion Festival in Kyoto or Fire Festival at Nachi in Kii Katsuura (both in July), or the famous Sapporo Snow Festival in February, can do so and still enjoy full flexibility with the study options. In this respect Option B is similar to Option C - please browse Option C as well so you can customize the program to suit your needs.

Compared to study/tour programs offered elsewhere in Japan (or anywhere else in the world), Yamasa's Discovery Option B offers several advantages:

  • This is the only study tour program in Japan allowing you to start with a specialized tour
  • You can still vary the length of the tour component (travel flexibility)
  • You can vary the length of the study component (study flexibility)
  • There is a safe deferral/refund policy in case you need to change schedules (security)
  • There are a minimum of 7 class levels available (including beginner levels all year round)
  • The program itself is offered all year (professional career faculty, not seasonal teachers)
  • Access to OCJS learning continues for 1 year after completion
  • Tour Group size is small (off-season average is 5, peak season average is 9)
  • Full 24 x 7 support in your studies, accommodation, welfare and safety
  • Free internet access, airport pickup/transfer, after-program travel booking service

Please click on the links below to see the range of program start dates. Please note that program dates after March 31st 2004 are yet to be confirmed. A full matrix (print ready format) of all options is accessible from a link at the bottom of this page.
