Part of the opening ceremony of the 2006 festival, with the Australian themed "Flinders Street Station" providing the stage venue. This much photographed section of the ceremony involved the Miss Sapporo and Susukino Ice Queen girls, other beauty contest winners from throughout Hokkaido, and any other girls the organizers could manage to confirm. The 3 girls on the right (pink hats, behind the speakers) were the shivering visitors from Okinawa.
