Okazaki City:

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the bar so cheap compared to almost every other bar in Japan?
A: Mainly due to lower overhead - the main bartender works for nothing. Zig Zag is primarily a student bar, so a conscious effort has been made to keep prices down.

Q: Do I have to speak Japanese?
A: You can speak any language you want to. The menu is bilingual Japanese/English. The staff are also multilingual.

Q: Can I pay by credit card?
A: Not at this stage. We should have these facilities established in the near future.

Q: Do you sell cigarettes?
A: Nope. Mainly due to the smoking policy. We may be able to fix you up with a nice fat Cuban cigar, but for cigarettes you need to either bring your own, or ironically, use the cigarette vending machines of the Minami Hospital.

Q: Can I bring kids (children) to Zig Zag?
A: Assuming that they are yours, certainly. Some of our customers have brought children with them in the past and the kids were not found dancing on the tables later on. Please note though that on Friday nights the place is usually very busy and the main room occasionally smoky. Also, we don't have a children's menu, and while we can scale down some food servings, unfortunately the powers that be do not allow us to serve Guinness to those under the age of 20.
