Jizake (regional and Okazaki sake), Shochu & Awamori
Nihonshu (Sake)
Zig Zag stocks a wide range of Nihonshu (Japanese sake). As a general rule we provide distinctive regional jizake (as opposed to mass produced brands) from all over the country but with a special emphasis on high quality daiginjou and nama nihonshu from Okazaki City and the
Mikawa region. It is possible to order by choko, tokkuri, or a bottle. For those who would like to sample a range of sake and learn a little about the different types of Nihonshuu available in Japan, a tasting set is also available. Shochu
Zig Zag stocks a wide range of Shochu. This drink is particularly popular in Kyushu and other areas of western Japan where
the climate is such that the distillation process was more suitable than the fermentation process used for making sake.

Awamori
From the Ryuukyuu archipelago (Okinawa) in Japan's far southwest, Awamori is a unique type of shochu with a distinctive taste. Best consumed straight or on-the-rocks, though some heathen foreigners (including a bearded one at Zig Zag) have been known to produce a couple of unusual Awamori based cocktails on request.
